Araricá is a city with about 5,600 (as of 2018) inhabitants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . It is located about 60 km northeast of Porto Alegre . Neighboring are the places Novo Hamburgo , Sapiranga , Nova Hartz , Parobé and Taquara . Originally Araricá was part of the municipalities of Nova Hartz and Sapiranga.
