Nova Hartz is a city with a population of 21,317 (2018 estimate) in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . It is located about 65 km northeast of Porto Alegre . Neighboring are the places Araricá , Igrejinha , Parobé , Santa Maria do Herval and Sapiranga . Originally Nova Hartz was part of the municipalities Parobé and Sapiranga.
