The Arawansai ( Kyrgyz Араван-Сай ; Uzbek Aravonsoy ) is a left tributary of the Qoradaryo ( Kara-Daryja ) in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan ( Central Asia ).
The Arawansai rises in Kyrgyzstan as Kyrgyz-Ata on the northern slope of the Kitschi-Alai ("Little Alai"). It flows north through the cities of Kyrgyz-Ata and Nookat . The Tschilisai flows into the river from the left. Below the confluence of the Kostschan from the right, the river is then called Arawansai . The Southern Ferghana Canal crosses the river near Langar . The water of the Ak-Buura , which runs further east, is fed to the Arawansai via canals. The Arawansai breaks through a low ridge and reaches the lowlands of the Fergana valley . There he turns to the northwest and crosses the border into Uzbekistan. It flows through the city of Asaka and turns north-northwest. It passes the village of Oltinko'l and flows into the Qoradaryo there. The Arawansai has a length of 102 km. It drains an area of 1960 km². The mean discharge is 10.9 m³ / s.
