On June 12, 1992, the Saxon state parliament passed the Saxon Court Organization Act to repeal the district and district courts and to set up labor courts, including the labor court in Bautzen. The labor court of Bautzen was responsible for the districts of Bautzen, Bischofswerda, Hoyerswerda, Kamenz, Löbau, Görlitz, Niesky, Weißwasser and Zittau as well as for the district-free city of Görlitz.
