Leipzig Labor Court
The Labor Court Leipzig is a court of the labor courts and one of five labor courts of the Free State of Saxony .
Since August 1st, 2008, Rüdiger Köhne has been director of the Leipzig Labor Court. The lawyer, born in Kiel in 1955, completed training in Hesse and Lower Saxony after graduating from high school. This was followed by a position as head of legal office in the Northeim district and as an independent lawyer. Köhne has been a judge in the Saxon judiciary since 1991.
Place of jurisdiction and jurisdiction
The court has its seat in Leipzig . It is locally responsible for labor law disputes from the independent city of Leipzig as well as the districts of Leipzig and northern Saxony .

The modern court building is located north of Leipzig's old town at Erich-Weinert- Strasse 18 .
Superior courts
The Saxon State Labor Court in Chemnitz and the Federal Labor Court in the further course of action are superordinate to the Leipzig Labor Court.
history
There were no separate labor courts in the GDR . Labor law proceedings were negotiated by the conflict commissions and the district and district courts. After reunification , the state of Saxony was re-established. On June 12, 1992, the Saxon State Parliament passed the Saxon Court Organization Act to repeal the district and district courts and to set up labor courts, including the Leipzig Labor Court. The Leipzig Labor Court was responsible for the districts of Boma, Delitzsch, Döbeln, Eilenburg, Geithain, Grimma, Leipzig, Oschatz, Torgau and Wurzen as well as for the district-free city of Leipzig.
