Ariane Andereggen (* 1969 in Aigle ) is a Swiss artist, actress and performer.

Career

Andereggen studied acting at the Bern University of the Arts from 1991 to 1995 , and media art at the Karlsruhe University of Design from 1998 to 2002 . She worked as an actress and video artist at several large companies in Germany and Switzerland, among others at the Hanover Theater , at Theater Freiburg , the Dresden State Theater and at the Cologne Theater . From 2012 to 2015 she was a member of the Ensemble Theater Basel . Andereggen has worked in productions by Michael Simon , Ruedi Häusermann , Sebastian Nübling and Barbara Weber, among others . She also works as a director herself and stages both in established theaters and in the off-scene . In her artistic work, she often plays with the boundaries between artistic genres, as well as with the boundary between political action and art. For example, in 2018, together with the German musician and director Ted Gaier , she examined the living and working conditions of artists in the form of an artistic radio feature . In 2009, Andereggen was awarded the Swiss Federal Prize for Fine Art , and in 2010 she received the Swiss Performance Award. Andereggen lives in Basel and Hamburg .
