Arianna Valcepina (born May 9, 1994 ) is an Italian short tracker .

Career

She starts for the club Bormio Ghiaccio and trains there under national coach Éric Bédard. She has been part of the Italian youth team since 2006 and competed in smaller international competitions. In Taipei she took part in the 2010 Junior World Championship, where she was fourth in the season finals. In the 2010/11 season Valcepina made her debut in the World Cup. She took part in the first two World Cups in North America, her best result was a semi-final over 1500 m. At the Junior World Championships in Courmayeur , she moved over 1000 m into the semi-finals and won the gold medal in the relay competition. She took part in the team world championships in Warsaw . With her teammates she won the B final and was fifth. The 2011/12 season was also successful . In the World Cup, Valcepina could not convince in individual races, but with the relay she won the race in Nagoya and celebrated her first World Cup victory. At the European Championships in 2012 in Mladá Boleslav , she was able to win the silver medal with the relay. In the 2014/15 season she took second place with the relay at the World Cup in Montreal and Dresden . At the 2015 European Championships in Dordrecht , she was fourth in the relay. In March 2015 she won the bronze medal with the relay at the World Championships in Moscow . In the following season she won the World Cup in Dresden and in Dordrecht each with the relay. At the European Championships in Sochi in 2016 , she won bronze with the relay. Her best placings at the 2016 World Championships in Seoul were 12th place over 500 m and fifth place with the relay. The following year she won the relay gold medal at the European Championships in Turin .

Valcepina's older sister Martina is also an internationally successful short tracker.
