Lucia Peretti (born November 14, 1990 in Sondalo ) is an Italian short tracker .

Career

Peretti starts for the club Bormio Ghiaccio and has been training under the new national coach Éric Bédard at the performance center in Bormio since 2010 . She made her international debut at the 2008 European Championships in Ventspils . There she appeared in the relay, but retired in the run-up. Things went better at the 2008 World Championships in Gangneung , where they reached the finals of the season and came fourth. She also started at the Team World Championships in Harbin and finished fifth with her teammates. In the 2008/09 season Peretti finally made his debut in Salt Lake City in the World Cup. As the best result in an individual race, she achieved 17th place over 1000 m in her first World Cup season. She was more successful in the relay, finishing third in Beijing and second in Sofia , making her only World Cup podium to date. She again took part in all the highlights of the season. At the European Championships in Turin she reached the final with the relay, but was disqualified there, at the Junior World Championships in Sherbrooke she won the gold medal with the relay. She also competed in the individual competitions and was 20th in the all-around competition. At the team world championship in Heerenveen she was again fifth.

In the Olympic season 2009/10 Peretti only took part in one World Cup race in individual races, but could not put himself in the limelight. However, she was successful in the team at the home world championship in Bormio, where she won the bronze medal. In Sofia she took part for the first time in the individual world championships, with the relay she was eliminated there in the semifinals. Peretti qualified as a relay runner for the Olympic Games in Vancouver . In the semifinals she was not used, but she ran in the B final and finally reached sixth place in the final standings. In the 2010/11 season , Peretti was only used in one World Cup. However, she started at the European Championships in Heerenveen and won the bronze medal in the relay. At the 2013 European Championships in Malmö she was eighth and at the 2013 World Championships in Debrecen fifth with the relay.

In the 2013/14 season, Peretti came third in the World Cup three times with the relay. At the highlight of the season, the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi , she won bronze in the 3,000-meter relay. At the 2014 World Cup in Montreal , she won bronze again with the relay. In the following season, she won second place with the relay at the World Cup in Montreal and Dresden . Her best placings at the 2015 European Championships in Dordrecht were sixth place over 1500 m and fourth place with the relay. At the 2015 World Championships in Moscow , she won the bronze medal with the relay, as in the previous year. The following year she won the bronze medal with the relay at the European Championships in Sochi. Her best results at the 2016 World Championships in Seoul were 13th place over 1500 m and fifth place with the relay. In February 2016, she won the relay for the first time in the World Cup in Dordrecht. In the 2016/17 season she was second in the relay at the World Cup in Dresden and Minsk and also achieved her first podium finish in the individual World Cup in Minsk with third place over 1500 m. At the 2017 European Championships in Turin , she won the gold medal with the relay. In addition, she was fifth there in the all-around competition and achieved third place over 1500 m. At the 2017 World Championships in Rotterdam she came in 40th place over 1500 m, with 38th place over 1000 m and with 23rd place over 500 m, on 35th place in the all-around competition. In November 2017 she took third place with the relay at the World Cup in Shanghai . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, she won the silver medal over 3000 m with the relay.
