Ariel Miguel Santiago Ibagaza (born October 27, 1976 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player with a Spanish passport.

Career

In the club

The dual citizen began his professional career at CA Lanús in Argentina. In 1998 he moved to Europe to RCD Mallorca on the Balearic Island. At the beginning of the 2003/04 season Ibagaza moved to Atlético Madrid . He played there from 2003 to 2006. For the 2006/07 season he went back to Mallorca before joining Villarreal in summer 2008 . For the 2010/11 season El Caño , his nickname, moved to the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus for free .

In the national team

Ibagaza has played twice for the Argentine national team so far .
