Ariel Vromen (born February 14, 1973 in Israel ) is an Israeli director , screenwriter and producer . He became known through films such as Simple Lies , Visions - The Dark Gift , The Iceman and The Jerico Project .

life and career

Ariel Vromen was born in Israel in 1973. In 1977 his family moved with him to Brazil and returned to Israel in the mid-1980s. When Ariel was 13 years old, he was given a Super 8 film camera and that sparked his interest in cinema. After four years of service in the Israeli Air Force, he moved to England to study law. During this time he played as a drummer and taught music. Music eventually brought him back to art, creativity and film.

Since the early 2000s, Vromen has worked in various roles in the film business. In 2001 he produced a short video film with Jewel of the Sahara , for which he also wrote the script and directed. In 2005 he directed his first movie with the romantic thriller Simple Lies starring Eric Balfour , Colin Hanks and Lauren German . He also worked on the script. In 2006 he made his breakthrough with the horror drama Visions - The Dark Gift with Marisa Tomei in the lead role. The film won awards at the 2006 San Diego Film Festival for Best Feature Film and Best Actress for actress Regina Hall .

In 2012, Ariel Vromen directed the award-winning drama The Iceman about the felon Richard Kuklinski , in which Michael Shannon , Winona Ryder and Chris Evans played the leading roles.
