Arjun Kadhe ( Hindi अर्जुन कढे ; born January 7, 1994 in Pune ) is an Indian tennis player .

Career

Arjun Kadhe already played several tournaments on the ITF Junior Tour. He was denied success in the larger tournaments. Nevertheless, in January 2012 he reached 34th place in the junior world rankings .

Kadhe played his first professional tournament in 2011 on the third-rate ITF Future Tour . It took until 2017 before he was able to celebrate success there, which was also due to the fact that he studied at Oklahoma State University - Stillwater between 2015 and 2017 and played college tennis there with success . In 2017, Kadhe reached a final in doubles for the first time. Four more finals followed, of which he was finally able to win two. He also made two finals in the individual, which resulted in a tournament victory. At the end of the season he was in the top 1000 in singles and doubles for the first time. In December he was able to improve his ranking again - he moved up to the top 600 in each case.

At the beginning of 2018, the Indian received a wildcard for both competitions for the ATP World Tour event, which was held for the first time in Pune . In the singles he lost straight to his compatriot Yuki Bhambri , in doubles to Robin Haase and Matwé Middelkoop and alongside Benoît Paire much narrower in the match tie-break .

He won his first title on the Challenger Tour in Chengdu alongside Saketh Myneni .
