Armand Thirard
Armand Henri Julien Thirard (born October 25, 1899 in Nantes , † November 21, 1973 in Colombes ) was a French cameraman.
biography
Thirard worked in the theater after the First World War , primarily as an actor. In 1925 he began working as a cameraman, initially working as an assistant and a year later as a simple cameraman. His teachers included u. a. René Guychard and Georges Périnal . In the early 1930s he was promoted to chief cameraman and was involved in a number of entertainment films. He reached the peak of his work after the Second World War . During this time he worked several times with Henri-Georges Clouzot and was involved in films such as Manon or Wages of Fear . From 1956 he took over the camera work for Roger Vadim's first films . His last job in the film business was as a consultant for the film The Super Brain in 1969. In his more than 40 years of experience, Thirard has been camerawork on more than 100 films.
