Armin Töpfer

Armin Töpfer (born April 1, 1944 in Lörrach ) is a German business economist .

Life

Professional background

From 1966 to 1979 Töpfer studied economics at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau , where he obtained his doctorate by 1981. He was then a lecturer at the European Business School in Düsseldorf and from 1982 to 1992 professor for business administration at the University of Kassel . From 1992 until his retirement in 2010 he was Professor of Business Administration / Market-Oriented Management at the TU Dresden .

Töpfer was a lecturer at the University of Freiburg and the EAP European Business School Düsseldorf , today's ESCP Europe Business School Berlin. He was also involved with a focus on management at the University of Kassel.

He is head of the market-oriented corporate management research group. In addition, he is the deputy chairman of the board of the Scientific Society for Market-Oriented Management. V. at TU Dresden as well as scientific director of the MBA program in Health Care Management at Dresden International University . He is also involved in a master’s degree at the University of Graz and an Executive MBA at the University of Mainz.

Act

The main focus of his teaching and research are value-oriented corporate management / balanced scorecard , strategic marketing / customer relationship management , service management , total quality management / business excellence, business process optimization / Six Sigma , mergers & acquisitions , hospital management and personnel management.

The focal points of empirical research include planning and control systems of industrial companies, strategic marketing concepts in German industry, the future orientation of operational human resources , the implementation process and implementation problems of the balanced score card, entrepreneurship in retail - comparison of independent and employed food retailers as well as success factors and Effects of e-learning .

Töpfer was involved in the restructuring of the Daimler-Benz group (1995–1997), overcoming the crisis surrounding the A-Class , the reorganization of Airbus , the realignment of R + V Versicherung , and an analysis of the overall and economic benefits the Standardization (DIN) and in the implementation of Six Sigma in hospitals.
