Arnd Meißl (born March 30, 1968 in Mürzzuschlag ) is an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ). Meißl was 2017-2019 Member of the state parliament of Styria and 2015-2017 from the Styria seconded member of the Austrian Federal Council .

Life

Arnd Meißl was born on March 30, 1968 in the north-east Styrian district capital Mürzzuschlag . There he also attended elementary school from 1974 to 1978 and then from 1978 to 1987 the secondary school . Meißl has been employed as a permanent branch manager at Austrian Post since 1992 .

In 1998 Arnd Meißl was first for the Austrian Freedom Party in the council elected by Mürzzuschlag. Since 2004 he has been city party chairman of the FPÖ Mürzzuschlag, since 2009 district party chairman in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district and since 2011 a member of the Styrian state party executive of the FPÖ. As part of the municipal elections in 2015 Meißl was elected vice mayor of Mürzzuschlag.

After the state elections in 2015 , Arnd Meißl was sent to the Federal Council by the newly elected Styrian state parliament on June 16, 2015 , where he was sworn in on July 2, 2015. After the National Council election in 2017 , Meißl resigned his mandate in the Federal Council to succeed Hannes Amesbauer , who had moved to the National Council, as a member of the Styrian state parliament. His successor in the Federal Council was Gottfried Sperl . After the state elections in 2019 , Meißl left the state parliament.
