Language and dialect

The district of Aichach-Friedberg is known for its rather unique Bavarian dialect . Here components of the Upper Bavarian dialect are mixed with Swabian influence. The Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and Art, in its answer to the written question from the Member of Parliament Florian Streibel ( Free Voters ), described the dialect east of the Lech around Aichach and Friedberg as Middle Bavarian. This dialect form can still be heard among the long-established population of Arnhofen. Since the young generation often has to leave Arnhofen and the region at an early age due to their initial training and secondary schools as well as degree courses, this dialect form is affected by assimilation.
