Arnold Hasse
Arnold Hasse (born December 10, 1873 in Hohen Damerau, Kr. Wehlau , East Prussia ; † May 14, 1933 in Glogau ) was a German administrative lawyer.
Life and work
After the exams and the doctorate to Dr. iur. Hasse entered the administrative service of the Crown Prussia . At first he worked in the city administrations of Königsberg and Breslau . In 1911 he was elected Lord Mayor of Thorn in West Prussia . He remained in office throughout the First World War until the city had to be ceded to Poland after the Treaty of Versailles . At the same time he was a member of the Prussian manor house until 1918 . In 1920, after the Kapp Putsch , Hasse served briefly as President of the Province of East Prussia until Ernst Siehr took over this office . 1922-23 Hasse headed the Königsberg branch of the Reichsausgleichsamt .
In 1923 he was elected mayor of the Silesian town of Glogau , where he held office until his death.
Arnold Hasse died in May 1933 at the age of 59 in Glogau. His grave is in the state-owned cemetery Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend (grave location: 8-C-61). He rests there by the side of his wife Frida Hasse nee. Knaake (1882-1968).
