Arnold Meyer (born July 29, 1877 in Muttenz , † March 27, 1959 in Pratteln ) was a Swiss politician (FDP) and architect .

Life

Arnold Meyer was born on July 29, 1877 as the son of the host Arnold and Emilie (née Ramstein) in Muttenz.

Meyer was a local councilor in Pratteln from 1911 to 1920 . He also served as district administrator for the FDP from 1911 to 1938, and as president from 1923 to 1924. Between 1932 and 1935 he represented the canton in the National Council . He was also a member of many commissions . In addition, he was a master builder for the Basellandschaftliche Gebäudeversicherung .

Meyer built, among other things, the cantonal bank in Liestal , where from 1928 to 1931 he led the renovation of the beneficiary institution. One of the main works is the Hasenbühl sanatorium in Liestal, completed in 1933.

Meyer, who was married twice, died on March 27, 1959 in Pratteln.
