Arnold Pyatrovich Tscharnuschewitsch ( Belarusian Арнольд Пятровіч Чарнушэвіч ; born January 15, 1933 in Minsk , Belarusian SSR ; † September 2, 1991 ) was a Soviet sword fencer .

successes

Arnold Tscharnuschewitsch was world champion with the team in Turin in 1961 . With her he also won silver in Budapest in 1959 and bronze in Buenos Aires in 1962 . He also won bronze in 1958 in Philadelphia . Twice he took part in the Olympic Games . In 1956 he was eliminated in Melbourne singles in the quarter-finals, while he finished fifth with the team. At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , he did not make it through the quarter-finals again in singles. With the Soviet team he lost to Italy 6-9 in the semi-finals , but defeated Hungary 9-5 in the battle for third place . Together with Bruno Habārovs , Guram Kostawa , Valentin Tschernikow and Aljaksandr Paulouski , Tscharnuschewitsch won the bronze medal.

Tscharnuschewitsch fought for Dinamo Minsk.
