Arnold Weichelt was a German printer and publisher in Hanover in the 19th century .

Life

According to the city of Hanover's address book from 1872, the printer and publisher of the same name, Arnold Weichelt, had been running his company since the year after the proclamation of the German Empire at the latest . But it was not until 1874 that Weichelt, with his company headquarters at Schillerstraße 20 in Hanover at the time, recommended himself through an advertisement in the Allgemeine Zeitung des Judentums : By purchasing the formerly Königlich Hannoversche Telgener'schen Hof book printing company , founded by Ernst August Telgener , also EA Telgener , Weichelt now owned the "[...] known [...] richest selection of Hebrew letters in all of Northern Germany ", but also offered the printing of German-language works, brochures and sermons.

The wood engravers Richard Brend'amour and Adolf Closs had engravings printed by Weichelt.

At the time of the First World War , the paper newspaper from 1916 informed about the change of name of the company to " Johannes Dieckmann , formerly Arnold Weichelt's printing house".
