history
The company was founded on April 25, 1922 as "Papierwarenfabriken M. Niedermayr GmbH" in Rosenheim . In the following year it was converted into a stock corporation. After changing business, in 1994 the previous sole shareholder Heidelberger Zement sold 32% of the shares in "Niedermayr Papierwarenfabrik AG" to the paper manufacturer UPM-Kymmene and another 32% to the Rohrdorfer Zement company . The company serves the three major shareholders as a joint venture for the production of paper sacks for the cement industry. In 2002 the "Niedermayr Papierwarenfabrik AG" gave up its operational activities and the paper sack business was sold. As a result, in 2003 the company was renamed "Circel Grundstücks- und Vermögensverwaltung AG". With a purchase agreement dated July 27, 2005, Arques Industries acquired 95% of the shares.
At the end of August 2007, the former majority owner Arques Industries sold part of its stake in Arquana to Printec Investments Ltd. (Birmingham) reduced from 49% to under 20%. With 29.9% of the shares, Printec was now the largest Arquana shareholder. At the end of December 2007, Printec sold its shares again.
One of the two locations in Austria, the Sochor Group GmbH in Zell am See , which was taken over in 2007 , was closed shortly after the takeover in 2008. The capacities will be combined at the Innsbruck location. A buyer has been sought for the French printing company Evry Rotatives (near Paris) since September 21, 2007.
In October 2007, the sale of Colordruck Pforzheim to an unspecified "strategic investor" was announced. On April 9, 2009, it was announced that Colordruck Pforzheim would close on June 30, 2009, as the company had been making losses for years and a sale to another financial investor appeared hopeless. The terminations for around 80 employees were announced on April 30, 2009.
Products
The business purpose is to bundle the business activities of companies in the field of the production of printed products. This encompasses the entire vertical production chain from pre-press services (print and media prepress) through offset and digital printing to post-press services (further processing, saddle stitching, adhesive binding, post optimization, inkjet, etc.).
