The Arroyo Grande is a river in western Uruguay .

It rises in the Cuchilla de Haedo on the territory of the Río Negro department on the border with Paysandú . The source is located northwest of Merinos and northeast of the Cerro de la Marcela . From there it runs in a south-westerly to southerly direction, partly almost parallel to the Arroyo Don Esteban Grande flowing west . It passes Paso de los Mellizos , crosses under Ruta 3 and flows into the Río Negro as a right-hand tributary at Paso de Vera .
