Arthur Groenouw

Arthur Groenouw (born March 27, 1862 in Bosatz , Ratibor district , Province of Silesia , † 1945 ) was a German physician, ophthalmologist and specialist book author.

Life

In 1881 he began studying medicine at the Schlesische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Breslau and in 1886 received his license to practice medicine ( Dr. med. ) . In the years 1887–1897 he was employed as an assistant doctor under Rudolf Heidenhain and Wilhelm Uhthoff in the eye clinic at the university. As early as 1890 he made the first description of corneal dystrophy . In 1892 he completed his habilitation, taught as a lecturer at the local eye clinic and worked as an associate professor from 1899 . During theDuring the Second World War he was the chief physician of the eye clinic at the St. Georg Hospital in Wroclaw.
