Arthur Jacobson (born October 23, 1901 in New York City , New York , † October 6, 1993 in Woodland Hills , Los Angeles , California ) was an American assistant director who was nominated for the Academy Awards for best assistant director in 1934 was.
Life
Arthur Jacobson began working for Honor Among Lovers in 1931 as an assistant director in the Hollywood film industry and as such was involved in the creation of 40 films and television series . At the Academy Awards in 1934 he was one of the nominees for the Oscar for best assistant director.
The best-known productions in which he worked as an assistant director include the films The Arms Smugglers of Kenya (1941), A New Kind of Love (1963), Emergency Landing in Space (1964) and Camelot - At King Arthur's Court (1967). He has worked with film directors such as Henry Hathaway , Melville Shavelson , Byron Haskin and Joshua Logan throughout his career .
As a director he only made one film, Home on the Range (1935).
