Arthur Kusterer (born June 14, 1898 in Karlsruhe , † December 23, 1967 in Altensteig ) was a German composer and conductor . He is best known for his opera version of What you want .

Life

Arthur Kusterer grew up in Karlsruhe, where he attended the Baden Conservatory founded in 1884 . Later he worked as a pianist and répétiteur at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe . He lived as a freelance composer in his hometown until 1936 and had "success on many German stages" with operas such as Was ihr wollt and Diener Zwei Herren . On August 16, 1945 conducted Kusterer at the reopening of the peace Auer theater in the Rhine in Berlin the Barber of Seville by Rossini .
