history

The first Bamberger Hütte was built in 1893/94 by the Bamberg Section at the foot of Piz Boè in the Sella Group in the Dolomites. This cabin was the 1919 Treaty of Saint-Germain expropriated and the CAI -Sektion SAT awarded. He repaired the hut , which had been badly damaged in the war, and continued to operate it under the name Boèhütte.

In 1955, the section acquires from the ski club Hopfgarten the Hopfgartner ski lodge whose structural condition is poor and requires immediate renovation work. In 1958 the hut is expanded, the kitchen, drainage, pressure pipes and drinking water pipes are renovated. In 1960 the Hopfgartner Hütte was finally renamed the Neue Bamberger Hütte. In 1962 the material ropeway is built. Further renovations followed in 1978, 1991 and 2000
