Arthur Loepfe (born December 25, 1942 in Berg SG , resident in Häggenschwil ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ) and former national councilor for the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden .

The trained businessman and studied business administration (Dr. oec. HSG) is involved in several boards of directors . From 1993 to 2000 he was a member of the professional ethics committee, the cantonal government of the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. He officiated as Landammann and head of the cantonal economics department. In the 1999 elections he moved to the National Council . Arthur Loepfe was confirmed in his office as National Councilor in the elections of 2003 and 2007 by the Innerrhod voters. In the 2011 elections, he did not run again; his successor is Daniel Fässler . In the National Council he was a member of the Federal Finance Commission and the Security Policy Commission. He was also president of the finance delegation of the federal councils and delegate to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg for several years. From 2003 to 2017, he presided over the International Council of Lake Constance in an honorary capacity .

Loepfe is married and has three grown children.
