Arthur Mämel

Arthur Mämel (born January 6, 1906 in Dortmund-Lindenhorst , † October 21, 1988 in Wanne-Eickel ) was a German historian and dramaturge .

Life

Mämpel graduated from high school in 1926 and then studied literature and musicology in Heidelberg , Göttingen and Münster . During his studies in Heidelberg, following his musical inclination, he joined the local singers Thuringia in the summer semester of 1926 . After the state examination and doctorate, he worked as a music and theater critic from 1931. At the same time he conducted theater studies archive studies, preferably in Westphalia . He was a lecturer at the University of Applied Theater Studies in Frankfurt and chief dramaturge at the Dortmund City Theater . At the same time he worked from 1948 as a cultural advisor for what would later become the Dortmund mining company.
