Arthur Schwinkowski

Arthur Schwinkowski (born August 9, 1908 in Kiel ; † January 3, 1994 in Konstanz ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

From 1958 to 1967 he was Second Vice President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament.

Life and work

After graduating from a secondary school, Schwinkowski studied modern languages ​​and economics at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . In 1931 there his doctorate Dr. phil. with the work "Priest Wernhers Maria - A style investigation" . In 1933 he also passed the state examination for higher education and went to Rennes in France as an exchange teacher and university lecturer . Schwinkowski then worked in the French textile industry from 1934 to 1939. Because of the outbreak of World War IIhe returned to Germany in 1939 and passed the pedagogical state examination in 1940. He then worked in occupied France from 1940 to 1943 as director of the German Cultural Institute in Bordeaux and then until 1945 as an interpreter for the Wehrmacht . After he was released from captivity , he returned to school in 1946. From 1954 to 1960 he was a senior teacher at the Staatliche Studieneminar in Kiel and from 1960 to 1967 as senior director of the Staatliche Gymnasium for boys and girls in Kiel-Wellingdorf.

Arthur Schwinkowski was married twice and had four children.

Political party

Schwinkowski was one of the founders of the CDU in Schleswig-Holstein and was chairman of the CDU district association in Kiel from 1957 to 1967.

MP

Schwinkowski was from 1950 to 1954 and from 1958 until the resignation of his mandate on October 31, 1969 a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein . From October 10, 1958, until his resignation on November 4, 1967, he was second vice-president of the state parliament and from 1951 to 1954 and from 1963 to 1967 parliamentary representative of the minister of education.

Arthur Schwinkowski entered the state parliament in 1954 as a directly elected member of the constituency of Kiel-Nord and then always as a member of the constituency of Kiel-Mitte.

He was a member of the federal assemblies in 1954 and 1959.

From August 7, 1951 to August 6, 1954 and again from January 30, 1963 to April 28, 1967 Schwinkowski was Parliamentary Representative of the Minister of Education.

Social offices

Schwinkowski belonged from 1965 to 1970 the Broadcasting Council of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk , and was co-founder of the German- Tunisian society.
