Arttu Kangas (born July 13, 1993 ) is a Finnish shot putter .

Athletic career

Arttu Kangas gained his first international experience at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore , where he finished fifth with a width of 20.45 m with a 5 kg ball. The following year he retired at the Junior European Championships in Tallinn with 16.96 m with the 6 kg ball in the qualification. In 2012 he was fourth at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona with 19.85 m and in 2013 at the U23 European Championships in Tampere seventh with 18.94 m. In 2013 he took part in the European Championships in Zurich for the first time, but did not reach the final with 19.07 m. In 2015 he did not succeed in a valid attempt at the European Indoor Championships in Prague and at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn he finished ninth with 18.27 m, as well as at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea, with 17.78 m.

In 2016 he was eliminated from the qualification at the European Championships in Amsterdam with 18.91 m, as well as at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2017 in Belgrade with 19.42 m and again in 2018, 18.17 m at the European Championships in Berlin were not enough for a final . The following year he again took part in the World Military Games in Wuhan , where he was 13th with 18.03 m.

From 2013 to 2017 and 2019, Kangas was Finnish champion in the shot put outdoors and from 2014 to 2019 indoors.
