Artuš Scheiner
Artuš Scheiner (born October 28, 1863 in Benešov , † December 20, 1938 in Prague ) was a Czech illustrator , draftsman and painter .
Scheiner was originally a tax officer in Prague. He gained notoriety in particular through his numerous illustrations of fairy tales , sagas and novels . He illustrated fairy tales by Václav Říha , Božena Němcová , Karel Jaromír Erben and Hans Christian Andersen , among others . He was a brother of the entrepreneur and Sokol functionary Josef Scheiner.
