Sergio Floccari (born November 12, 1981 in Vibo Valentia ) is an Italian football player .

Career

In the club

After his first lower-class positions, Floccari switched to CFC Genoa in 2002 . After only one year he moved to Rimini in the 3rd division. In the 2004/05 season he was promoted to Serie B with Rimini . In January 2006 Floccari moved to Serie A for Messina. Here he made his debut on January 20, 2006 the match day in a 1-1 draw against Lazio Rome . For the 2007/08 season Floccari moved to the league competitor from Bergamo. For Atalanta he scored 20 league goals in two years. He returned to Genoa in 2009 and made his debut in the UEFA Europa League that season . On the 2nd match day of Group B in the 2: 3 defeat against FC Valencia . In January 2010 Floccari was loaned to Lazio Rome, in the summer Lazio took advantage of the purchase option. He was loaned to FC Parma for the 2011/12 season, but returned to Lazio for the 2012/13 season.

On January 30, 2014, Floccari joined US Sassuolo in the league after Lazio signed another striker in the form of Hélder Postiga and so faced great competition. Until January 2016 Sergio Floccari was under contract with US Sassuolo.

Floccari moved to league rivals FC Bologna on January 11, 2016. In total, he played 23 league games and scored 2 goals for Bologna. After a little over a year, he moved to Serie B at SPAL Ferrara on January 19, 2017.

In the national team

Under Cesare Prandelli Floccari was in the qualifiers for the 2012 European Football Championship in the games against Serbia and Northern Ireland in the squad. However, he remained without commitment.
