Career

In the club

Valdifiori comes from the youth of AC Cesena . He made his professional debut in Serie B for Cesena in the 2004/05 season . Since he came to only one league use in the following season , he moved to AC Pavia , which played a league lower, but in which he received regular operating times. Despite this, he left Pavia after a year and joined AC Legnano , where he was also regularly involved. But Legnano was only a short stopover, as Valdifiori moved to FC Empoli in 2008 . He was able to establish himself immediately and has been a regular since his engagement. In six Serie B seasons, he came to 197 games in which he scored four goals. At the end of the last , promotion to Serie A was also certain with second place in the table . He played his first Serie A game on August 31, 2014 in the 2-0 defeat by Udinese Calcio .

After Valdifiori was able to keep the class with Empoli, coach Maurizio Sarri switched to SSC Napoli for the 2015/16 season . In the course of this, the Neapolitans also committed Valdifiori for a transfer fee of around 5.5 million euros.

In the summer of 2016, Valdifiori moved to Turin FC .

In the national team

Valdifiori was nominated for the first time for the Italian national team by Antonio Conte in March 2015 . After he was not used in the game against Bulgaria , he was allowed to celebrate his debut for the Squadra Azzurra three days later, on March 31, in the game against England . In May 2015, Valdifiori also took part in a training course for the national team in preparation for the international matches against Croatia and Portugal . However, he was not taken into account for the two games. Since then, Valdifiori has not been nominated.
