Arve Skåren (born February 12, 1977 ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Skåren, who started for Byåsen IL , had his first international success at the 1997 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Canmore . There he won the bronze medal with the relay. He ran his first race in the Continental Cup in December 1997 in Meråker , which he finished in 64th place over 10 km freestyle. In March 1999 he made his debut in Oslo in the cross-country skiing world cup and achieved 58th place over 50 km classic. In the 2003/04 season he came three times in the points in four World Cup appearances. He got his first World Cup points in Trondheim with the 23rd place in the sprint. In January 2004 he won third place in the sprint at the Continental Cup in Valkeakoski . He was also the Norwegian champion in 2004 together with Tor Arne Hetland in the team sprint. In his last active season 2004/05 he finished 21st in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup . He achieved third place in the sprint in Lapinlahti . In October 2004 he achieved his best individual result in the World Cup with 20th place in the sprint in Düsseldorf . He completed his 11th and last individual World Cup race in March 2005 in Drammen , which he finished in 55th place in the sprint.
