Así se quiere en Jalisco (German: This is how one loves in Jalisco ) is a Mexican film from 1942. This ranchera film was directed by Fernando de Fuentes , who, together with Antonio Guzmán Aguilera, adaptedthe book by Carlos Arniches . It is the first color film to be shot in Mexico. The process used for this was Cinecolor .

The film tells the story of the love of Lupe Rosales, which is desired by the landowner Luis Alcántara, but whose foreman Juan Ramón Mireles loves. Luis lends Pancho, Lupe's father, money to work as a maid for him as security for the loan. Luis gets rid of his competitor by firing Juan Ramón. Lupe defends himself against Luis's advances, but cannot leave his house to marry her lover due to her father's debts. When Juan Ramón returns to the farm, Luis accuses his former employee of starting a fire and has him arrested for it. However, he manages to escape from prison just in time to save Lupe from Luis. After beating him up, Luis confesses that the fire was his own fault. At the end of the film, Juan Ramón and Lupe ride off together.

Así se quiere en Jalisco was produced by Fernando de Fuentes together with the Producciónes Grovas company. It was the first color film to be shot in Mexico. The Cinecolor process was used for this. In this context, John W. Boyle , who otherwise worked in Hollywood , was hired as a cameraman. Así se quiere en Jalisco premiered in Mexico on December 25, 1942. On August 6, 1943, it was also published in the United States, where Grovas-Mohme performed it with English subtitles. The film was also released in Portugal in 1952 . The film was reviewed by the New York Times . The actors' performance has been criticized, as has the plot. The following reference was made to the implementation as color film: "The Mexican film industry finally has succumbed to the color camera in" Asi Se Quiere en Jalisco, "which has been fitted out with English subtitles and brought into the Belmont. In Mexico a color camera can do no wrong — and within the limitations of Cinecolor and a camera which has some difficulty in remaining in focus the new film is quite a riotous display of gay fiestas, stunning senoritas and equally stunning cowboy pants.
