Asami Kato
Asami Katō ( Japanese 加藤 麻美 , Katō Asami ; born October 12, 1990 ) is a Japanese long-distance runner .
In the junior women's race at the World Cross Country Championships, she came 15th in Edinburgh in 2008 and 20th in Amman in 2009 .
In 2012 she won the Ōme marathon over 30 km, finished seventh in the Japanese company championship in the half marathon , won the Sendai half marathon , came fourth in the Sapporo half marathon and won the Parkersburg half marathon. At the Half Marathon World Championships in Kawarna , she contributed with a twelfth place to win the bronze medal for the Japanese team.
In 2013 she defended her title in Ōme. She was ninth in the Nagoya Marathon and fifth in the Philadelphia Half Marathon . The following year, an eighth place in Nagoya was followed by a victory in the Gold Coast Marathon .
In 2015 she won the Matsue half marathon and the Rotterdam marathon .
