The Ashchissu ( Russian Ащису ) is a right tributary of the Shagan in northeast Kazakhstan .

The Ashchissu rises in the eastern part of the Kazakh threshold . Initially it flows in a westerly direction. Later he turns to the southwest and passes the place Uschbiik . Then the Ashchissu changes course to the northwest. Finally it reaches the Shagan 100 km southwest of Semei .

The Ashchissu has a length of 349 km. Its catchment area covers 18,100 km². The river is fed by the snowmelt . The Ashchissu often falls dry.
