During one night in Berlin, a 17-year-old punk and a 30-year-old old rocker meet. After initial deep conflicts between two generations of rock musicians, the two discover music as a connecting element and become friends over the course of the night.

The leading role of Angel is played by Gerd Udo Heinemann, who never appeared again as a film actor. The second leading role of Johnny is played by Thomas Davis, who also only pursued a short acting career. After Asphalt Night he only played a sensational reporter in Eckhart Schmidt's film The Story .

Eff Jot Krüger , the guitarist of Ideal at the time, can be seen in a small supporting role as a dealer . The "little one" plays Christina Plate , one of her first roles. The future playmate Petra Jokisch also plays a supporting role .

The score was mainly composed by Lothar Meid . He also wrote the title song Angel's Night and interpreted it by Gerd Udo Heinemann. The lyrics of the songs come from Peter Fratzscher, Lothar Meid and Tom Winter.

The film was first broadcast on ZDF on October 16, 1980. It was never repeated in the following years. It can currently be found in very poor quality on YouTube .

"In spite of the overly abstract dialogues and the somewhat questionable utopia, the film gives a realistic insight into the search for identity of adolescents alienated from reality and tries to make an attitude towards life tangible."
