Asselborner Hof is a district in the Herrenstrunden district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The street was named in 1936 after a medieval manor first mentioned in 1294 in connection with Giselbert de Astelburne . The name Assenborns Hof can be found in the original cadastre near today's street . The Asselborn court was exempt from property taxes and services because it was a small, free aristocratic estate that did not have its own court . The Herkenrath order of pews from 1630 gives the estate the name Asselborner Hoff . The estate fell apart in the 18th century as a result of inheritance divisions. In 1936 the street name became necessary because the non-profit garden settlement company Gronauerwald established a small-scale farming settlement here.
