Asteria is an American five-piece pop-punk band from Crown Point , Indiana .
history
Asteria was founded in 2004 and gained recognition within the scene through constant touring. In 2005 Hawthorne Heights member JT Woodruff became aware of the band and signed them to his label Carbon Copy Media . However, while they were working on their debut album in New York , they broke the contract due to internal problems with the label. They signed a contract with Broken English Records and released their album Slip Into Something More Comfortable in February 2007 . They then toured the US with bands like Amber Pacific , Hit the Lights , All Time Low and the Canadians of Silverstein .

Asteria play pop-punk in their songs, which is combined with emo and indie elements. They belong to a number of new pop-punk bands that are close to indie rock emo, such as The Academy Is ... , Paramore or All Time Low.
