Astrid Retzke (born July 13, 1973 in Wolfen ) is a former German heptathlete .

Athletic career

Astrid Retzke won the bronze medal in the heptathlon both times at the German championships in 1996 and 1998 . In the German Olympic qualification in Ratingen , despite several previous injuries, she was able to qualify as the winner for the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney . In the Sydney heptathlon , however, she only completed two disciplines and did not finish the competition.

Retzke is a qualified sports therapist and worked as a staff sergeant in the medical service of the Bundeswehr.
