Astrid von Schlachta

Astrid von Schlachta (* 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German historian . Schlachta was a research assistant at the University of Innsbruck from 2006 to 2012 and has been a research assistant at the University of Regensburg since 2012 .

Life

Schlachta attended school in Frankfurt am Main and Schwalbach am Taunus . From 1990 to 1992 she completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk . In 1992 she began studying history and German at the University of Innsbruck, which she completed in 1997 with a master's degree in philosophy . From 1998 to 1999 she received a doctoral scholarship at the Institute for European History in Mainz .

In 2002 , Schlachta received his doctorate in Mainz with a dissertation on the Hutterite movement to become a doctor of philosophy . Her work was published a year later under the title Hutterite Confession and Tradition (1578-1619). Established life between order and ambivalence in the series publications of the Institute for European History Mainz published as volume 198.

After a post-doctoral scholarship from 2004 to 2006 at the Graduate School Political Communication from Antiquity to the 20th Century with a project on political communication among Anabaptists, Schlachta became a research assistant at the Institute for History at the University of Innsbruck in 2006. Since October 2012 she has been a research assistant at the Chair for Modern History and Early Modern Times at the University of Regensburg. Her main research interests are the history of the Anabaptists, the Reformation and the confessional as well as the history of the sexes.

Schlachta is an author, translator and editor of numerous specialist publications and co-author of the Mennonite history sheets and the Mennonite lexicon . She is the head of the Mennonite Research Center in Weierhof and has been chairwoman of the Mennonite History Association since 2013 .
