Ataúlfo Sánchez

Ataúlfo Sánchez (born March 16, 1934 - † February 3, 2015 in Zárate ), also known by the nickname Rey del Arco ( King of the Gate ), was an Argentine football player in the position of goalkeeper .

career

Sánchez began his football career with his hometown club Defensores Unidos de Zárate .

Between 1957 and 1961 he was under contract with the Racing Club , with which he twice won the Argentine football championship.

In 1962, Sánchez moved to Mexico for Club America , with whom he won the Mexican Cup competition ( 1964 and 1965 ) and again a year later ( 1966 ) the Mexican Football Championship for two consecutive years .

After the end of his active career, he temporarily coached the Racing Club in 1970.
