Atavyros ( Greek Ατάβυρος ) is a municipality in the west of the Greek island and municipality of Rhodes . The second largest and at the same time least populous district is named after the highest mountain of the same name on the island. Neighboring parishes are Kamiros in the northeast, Lindos in the east and Notia Rodos in the southeast.

The municipality of Atavyros was created by the administrative reform in 2010 from the municipality of the same name. This was founded by the territorial reform in 1997 from five rural communities, the current district of Embonas and four local communities.
