Carl Schlick

Carl Julius Schlick (born June 12, 1809 in Gumbinnen , East Prussia ; † September 10, 1874 in Ragaz , Switzerland), was a German manor owner, administrative lawyer and member of parliament in Prussia.

Life

Schlick studied law at the Albertus University in Königsberg . In the winter semester 1829/30 he was active in the Littuania Corpsland team . After the exams he was a government assessor with the government in Gumbinnen . Initially provisional and finally appointed in 1840, he was district administrator in the Niederung district for eleven years, with his official seat in Heinrichswalde . In 1850 he acquired the Adlig Deutsch Crottingen estate , whose local office is now in Lithuania (in the district of Kretingalė ) and is called Šlikiai after his family name. Carl Julius Schlick died at the age of 65 in the Swiss spa town of Ragaz .

Schlick was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives , in 1849 in the 1st legislative period for the Konigsberg constituency in the Left Party, in 1862 in the 6th legislative period for the Königsberg 1 constituency as a non-attached member and from 1862 to 1866 in the 7th and 8th legislative periods for the constituency of Königsberg 1 and the faction of the German Progressive Party .

After his death, his son Bernhard Schlick took over the estate. This later became a member of the German Reichstag.
