The Atbaschy ( Kyrgyz Атбашы, Кырка тоо ) is a mountain range in the southern part of the Inner Tian Shan in the Naryn region ( Kyrgyzstan ).
The Atbaschy extends over a length of 135 km in the ONE-WSW direction between the Atbaschy basin in the north and the Chatyrköl depression in the south and the Aksai river valley in the southeast. It reaches an altitude of 4786 m . The Atbaschy River and its tributary Karakojun drain the northern flank of the mountain range.
The mountains consist of Paleozoic metamorphic slate , limestone , sandstone and in places of magma rock ( granite and syenite ). The mountain ridge is covered with ice. The glacier area of Atbaschy is given as 150 km². The mountains are characterized by mountain meadows and subnival landscapes.
