The studio for special tasks is a small artistic company founded in 1999 in St. Gallen for the realization of art projects. It consists of the conceptual artists Patrik and Frank Riklin. The twin brothers (born December 17, 1973 ) both completed art studies, but soon turned away from the classic art business in order to be able to implement their creative ideas uncompromisingly.

Often the focus of their projects is on social interaction. B. at BIGnik and Quatschmobil .

To mark the 200th anniversary of the Swiss Art Association , the studio for special tasks realized the film Art, Life and Death .

For the label Null Stern Hotel that they had devised for a project (first realized in 2008/2009 in Teufen AR ), they received worldwide attention as well as a purchase offer worth millions, which they refused.

The art project Fly Rescue in Deppendorf , originally planned by the client Reckhaus GmbH & Co KG in Bielefeld as an extraordinary advertisement for a fly trap, inspired the company owner Hans-Dietrich Reckhaus to create his Insect Respect (R) quality mark and the books Why Every Fly Counts (3rd edition 2018 ) and let fly ( Murmann Verlag , 2020). This project was also the subject of a case study by Berit Sandberg and Antje Hering as part of the research project Arts Push Business - Art-Enterprise-Cooperation (KUK) as a motor for business and art at HTW Berlin .

Her book and art project Denkpause (2013), which was actually planned as a contribution to the “Kultursommer Mels ” 2010, was awarded CHF 15,000 in 2012 by the canton of St. Gallen . funded (project number L.12.1.23).

The studio was allowed to participate in the three-phase art project “New North Zurich”, a special “drinking fountain” (drinks machine) was created for the area development project Mehr als Wohnen in the north of Zurich.

In 2018 they made a contribution to the Super simple festival of the Swiss Werkbund .
