Doing nuclear phase-out yourself ( ASM ) is a campaign by 23 German environmental associations , consumer protection organizations and anti-nuclear initiatives .
aims
The alliance calls on Germany to stop paying any more money to electricity companies that operate nuclear power plants. Instead, it is recommended to switch from the electricity supplier to green electricity providers. In addition, ASM would like to motivate opponents of nuclear power to become active for green electricity.
activities
Active people and groups - e.g. B. Citizens' initiatives , local groups of environmental protection associations, independent anti-nuclear and energy transition alliances - are supported by nuclear phase-out yourself . To this end, ASM regularly makes new promotional proposals and offers and also calls for a major nationwide “green electricity change week” once or twice a year.
Advice and information from interested citizens is provided, among other things, via flyers .
history
After the factual termination of the red-green nuclear consensus through the first applications for the transfer of residual electricity from old to newer reactor blocks, submitted by the nuclear power plant operators RWE , E.ON , Vattenfall and EnBW , environmental and consumer protection organizations called in October 2006 to to part with the nuclear companies.
They decided that they could do the nuclear phase-out themselves and founded the alliance of the same name for this purpose.
