Attack of the tromaggot is a no-budget - trash film of Leslie Teah . The film , made in Germany , pays homage to the American independent film production company Troma . The film includes cameo appearances by studio boss Lloyd Kaufman and actress and B-film icon Debbie Rochon .

Maggotown (German: Madenstadt) is a fictional peaceful small town that is ruled by a police chief. Due to an accident in a laboratory, a maggot managed to escape into the sewer system. Due to the contact with highly toxic fertilizer, it mutates into a monster, the Tromaggot , which is gradually killing more and more of the city's residents.

The film's budget was around 1,000 euros, the majority of which was used for the two-day rental of the former GDR radio building . The last and most complex scene for Attack of the Tromaggot was filmed in this building .

In July 2010 a major premiere tour with Lloyd Kaufman took place in Germany. The film was shown in Berlin, Saarbrücken (during the Splatterdaynightfever) and in Nuremberg (in the Kommkino). In December 2011 the film was released as a double DVD set (film DVD and audio DVD with all Tromaggot songs) under the MUP label. In 2013 Troma released the film on a “Third Reich film anthology” DVD together with Teenape Vs. The Monster Nazi Apocalypse and the film The Secret of the Magic Mushrooms , also from Germany .
