Debbie Rochon
Debbie Ann Rochon (born November 3, 1968 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actress .
Career
Debbie Rochon grew up in Vancouver . At the age of twelve she was taken out of her family and spent several years in various care facilities. She lived on the streets for part of her youth to escape Canada's youth welfare system. At the age of 12 or 13, she played a small role in the 1982 film Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains . As a teenager she saved money and after finishing school moved to New York City , where she studied acting and played various theater roles. She had her first film role at the side of Marilyn Chambers .
She began to act in numerous independent films , especially in horror films and is now one of the most famous scream queens in the B-film sector. Rochon has played in over 200 films since 1988 and makes an average of 8 films a year. In addition, she worked for several years as a radio presenter and conducted interviews a.o. in her column Diary of the Deb. a. with Dee Snider and Tony Timpone for Fangoria Radio. In 2010 she stood in front of the camera as "Blondie" in the horror web series "The Chainsaw Sally Show". In 2012 she directed the psychological horror drama The Nightmare Box . The film by Jon Keeyes based on the frivolous and joyous celebrations of the 17th Century .
Her work includes more than 240 film and television productions. Her best-known works include several troma films , including Tromeo & Julia and Terror Firmer .
On April 30, 2012 she received the title Honorary Chairperson of the Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival as part of the "Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival" . In 2013 she made her directorial debut with the serial killer horror film Model Hunger . She is shooting the serial killer film in Manhattan, as well as Buffalo , New York and starring Lynn Lowry and Tiffany Shepis .
Horror magazine Draculina called her the Scream Queen of the Decade (1990-1999).
