Attila Kun (born March 9, 1949 in Oradea ) is a former Romanian football player and today's German coach , of Hungarian origin. He denied 261 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A .

Career as a player

In 1966, Kun came into the first team squad of his home club Crisul Oradea , of the then Romanian in the second division, the Divizia B , played. In season 1967/68 he became the regular force and rose with his team in second place behind Vagonul Arad in the Divizia A on. He came there for his first assignment on August 11, 1968. In his first season in the House of Lords he managed to stay up with his team, but had to relegate a year later .

Kun then moved to the Romanian top club UTA Arad in 1970 . At the end of the 1970/71 season he was loaned to Crişul and helped to create the resurgence. Kun returned to Arad and made the leap to become a regular player. He finished the 1971/72 season as runner-up behind Argeş Piteşti and, following successes over Austria Salzburg , Zagłębie Wałbrzych and Vitória Setúbal, he moved into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup , but was eliminated from the eventual winner Tottenham Hotspur . Kun was used in all eight games and scored three goals. In the following two seasons, he missed the European Cup. With 13 goals in the 1973/74 season , he achieved his best hit rate in Divizia A.

Kun returned to Oradea in 1974. His former club, which has since become FC Bihor , played again in Divizia B. He helped with 15 goals to return to the House of Lords. After two placements in midfield, the club fell back into the relegation battle in the 1977/78 season , but managed to stay in class on the last day of the match. One year later , however , followed another descent. After missing promotion twice, Kun rose with his team for the third time in 1982. After ten goals, he managed to stay in the league. Then he ended his playing career after being in the second round already as a player-manager had to step in.

National team

Kun played a total of 20 games for the Romanian national team between 1972 and 1976 . He made his debut on January 30, 1972 in a friendly against Morocco , when he scored his first goal in the 9th minute of the game. Only two more games followed. After a 3: 3 against Italy on June 17, 1972, the international career was initially over.

When he played against France on March 23, 1974 , Kun returned to the national team after a break of almost two years. National coach Valentin Stănescu also built on him when he played in Divizia B with his club FC Bihor Oradea . He and the team missed qualifying for the 1976 European Championship . From the summer of 1975 it was rarely taken into account. In the second final of the Balkan Cup 1973/76 on November 28, 1976, he played his last international match against Bulgaria .

Career as a coach

In the last season of his active career, Kun was active as a player- coach in the second half of the 1982/83 season after his club FC Bihor Oradea had separated from Gheorghe Staicu . At the new season he was replaced by Gheorghe Dăraban . After his release in April 1984, he again took his place. He stayed with the club at the beginning of the 1984/85 season , but had to take his hat off during the winter break.

In 1985, Kun emigrated to Germany and took on German citizenship. He was initially active as a player coach at VfL Schorndorf . Later he worked for various lower-class teams before the state league club SV Fellbach hired him. In 1995, Kun acquired his football instructor license at the German Sport University in Cologne . He works mainly in the youth sector. In the summer of 2003 he took over the first team of FC Wollmatingen in the regional league and two years later rose to the southern Baden association league . In January 2007, the club separated from him, lying on the penultimate place in the table. Until the summer of 2010, Kun looked after the A-youth of FC Konstanz before he became the coach of the first team in the regional league. After seven match days, however, he was released again. He also worked as a player advisor. Since June 2011 he has been a youth coach at FC Singen 04 . In 2013 FC Singen 04 and Kun parted ways. Attila Kun has been coach of the B2 at FC 09 Überlingen since the second half of the season . From 2014 to 2017 Kun was coach of FC Öhningen-Gaienhofen in the district league Bodensee.
